First Lesson

Activity One: Early Cinema Resource Board

You will need your Spectatorship and Early Cinema before 1917 workbook for this task.

In teams, read the first four pages of the workbook and jot down important information onto Post-It notes; place the Post-Its onto a large sheet of page - no repetition of information.

Activity Two: Early Cinema Mood Board

Find images of the following:

Camera Obscura
Fantasmagorie 'Magic Lantern'
Muybridge's Horse
Chronographic Camera
Photographic Gun
Kineotagraph and Kinetoscope
Lumiere Cinematographe

Write one line of information about each item. Why was the item important in the development of cinema?
